I am an avid Tribe fan--always have been, always will be. Win or lose. But let's all grow up and stop slandering the Yankees and their fans. My gosh, it was one awesome game. But to post things like I'm reading is a shame, and isn't showing good sportsmanship. I may get alot of thumbs down for this, but I don't care. My question: Is it that hard to show good sportsmanship?

GO TRIBE!

Wow!! Very well put. It's okay to have pride for your team, but no need to put down the other team or ANY other team. I'm not sure that people really know what good sportsmanship is these days. Seems like everyone is ready to jump on one team or the other - from NFL, to NCAAF, to MLB, to NBA. It's sad.

Hey, as a Yankee fan I have nothing against the Indians but a lot of Indian fans are thinking they have series wrapped up because they won the first game. Don't overlook the Yankees & think about AL championship series too early because, to be honest, Indians do usually fail to do well in play-offs & lose, so if the Indians win series against Yankees, congrats to them but you only won the first game & it's a 5 game series. May the better team win.

If I ever talk trash it is with those who I know can take it and if they give it out, so be it. It is just a game, and I never lose sight of that. I have RedSox friends, Indian friends, White Sox friends, Braves friends, Tiger friends and others who know that what I say, is all in good fun. It is never hard to show good sportsmanship, but it is easier many a times to travel the other route

Sportsmanship can be hard to come by these days, but I'm a serious Yankee fan - I take trash-talking more harshly than a lot of Yankee fans. I just needed to get that part off my shoulders. I don't even hate the Indians, but rather, what I said during and following last night was in a state of rage. I'm recovering, though, and hope to God Pettite can deliver something promising for us tonight.

Apparently it is hard here at Y answers and in real time as well.
I'm lovin the Indians, i've seen them play here in Chicago at the Cell. I'm rooting for the Central Division Indians. My White Sox are out of it so it's just tipping my cap to the champs.

Yeah, but revenge is a dish best served at maximum velocity for an extended amount of time. Yank fans have a long history of talking trash because their team could back it up. Now its our turn to dole out what they have just run out of. Let the smack continue! CLEVELAND ROCKS! GO TRIBE!

Boy, do I agree with you. The childish bashing that goes on here crosses all kinds of lines. I'd rather cheer for my team than do all that thinking about teams I don't even like. Some parents were very obviously remiss in teaching things to their kids. Here, adults even bash acknowledged kids.

A lot of the people trash talking probably are just anti-yankees fans and not really Indians fans; still, I agree, all the trash talking is kind of stupid

You get a gold star. I hate people who talk crap because of one game...that works both ways though. I am a Yankees fan and when fellow fans act stupid it makes me mad. You guys won...big deal. Maybe you will win the series, maybe not.

I agree, but on the other hand if I have to hear "with 26 rings its hard to be humble" one more time! You are right though. I wont gloat till we win it all.
