My 7, 9 and 11 year old daughters own several of those Bratz dolls and i don't find anything wrong with them.
I also don't think there's anything wrong with their clothing and i think that the bratz cartoons teaches girls to cherish friendship and express themselves however they want through fashion. I don't find anything sleazy about a bunch of plastic dolls.
However, my main concern was with the barbie dolls with their slim bodies, huge breasts, perfect hair and mini skirts.
I personally think that bratz dolls are much better than barbies for the fact that they don't bear any breasts, are shorter than an actual model and seem plumpier than barbies, they also seem prettier and more defined than those pink obsessed dolls.
Barbie represents a prefect blond haired, blue eyed lady with a skinny body and huge boobs whiles bratz are of every ethnicity and their shows teach girls that friendship is very important as well as fashion.
And for parents who say they will never let there daughter own a bratz can't say they are influencing girls in any way. It's up to you the parents to make sure that your daughter dresses decently and stop blaming plastic dolls for their shortcomings.

My daughter is 10 and she is obsessed with bratz dolls than any other doll.
I don't believe this myth that they are sending wrong messages to children. I have a 14 yo daughter also and she was playing with bratz since they were released in about 2001. The dolls haven't influenced her in any way.

I have to agree bratz look like hookers. They have botox lips, wear far to much make up and are nothing more than fashion divas. I would not let my daughters play with them at at all. I saw one of the cartoons once... was not impressed with that either. The plot was one of the bratz drugged the other with a spiked drink to take her place in a fashion show. Not very friendly I think! Bratz are the only dolls ever to knock barbie off the top slot in sales. What does that tell us? Sex sells!
Barbie has many ethnic friends. I had an asian barbie when I was a girl. Also she has a friend in a wheelchair (share a smile becky)
Bratz are just horrible!

my 6 year old daughter has at least 10 Bratz dolls.

I think barbie dolls are more sleazy nowadays. I have a seven year old daughter and she loves bratz more than barbie's so yes, i would buy my little angel a bratz doll anyday.

No, i find barbie dolls more sleazy than bratz dolls. I have a eight year old daughter and she adores bratz dolls. I think barbie dolls are inappropriate for girls. They represent a fake image of beauty.

I don't have kids yet, but if and when I do I personally wouldn't let them play with Bratz. I just don't think young girls should be thinking about fashion and make up. My favourite toys, which I played with until I was about 12, were sylvanian families, which were families of cute little animals in old fashioned clothes. I will be encouraging my daughters to play with those.

I used to collect Bratz. I still have all of my old ones.

I would never allow my child to play with these dolls! They are sending a bad message about body image and such. I have found one doll that could substitute for the Bratz dolls though...called My Scene...I have net yet seen one distasteful!
