The best player is the person who did the most to help his team win and put them in the position to win the most championships.
If you want my opinion, Kobe is my pre-preseason pick for 2008 MVP. Kobe will shut up all the haters that way, and the jockers can finally have some jocking they can actually be proud of.
But who am I to say who is the best? I'll let the players, coaches, and qualified analysts vote on that. Sure, I had my share of Division I basketball, but who cares? Should you trust me or Magic, Reggie, Larry, etc?
Recently, they voted for Dirk No-win-ski, Steve Nash, and Tim Duncan.
If Kobe takes what he learned from FIBA and Lebron James that he can depend on his teammates, Kobe will be MVP in 2007-2008! For now, there's no reason for me to believe Kobe won't. So Kobe is my pre-preseason pick.
P.S. If you call a 29-53 team "already good," you're obviously a hater. And if you think Kobe is the best in the NBA, you're obviously a jocker. You have yet to have any proof at all!

In my opinion, I think Kevin Garentt is the best in the game. He's the picture of a complete player. He does everything and does it well. I cant think of any other PF that can average 5 assists a game (prove me wrong, i really wanna know who else has 5 or more), not to mention averaging double double's for the past 10 years.

How can you argue against Tim Duncan. His team is worse than nashes and dirk's but unlike both he runs his team to perfection which is why he can take whoever the management puts around him and end up in the finals or winning them. 4 rings in the last 9 years????who has won that many rings without having 2 dominant players??? kobe and shaq, mj and pippen??only last year has another player taken it to another level.he's a 2 time mvp.he has set the block record for the nba finals. domination=tim duncan and he doesnt ask to be traded not caring if his team's chemestry is messed up unlike kobe who will never win another ring unless he has another shaq-esque player.

None of you know a thing about basketball apparently.
The answer is:
Kevin Garnett.
No ifs ands or buts about it. He is such a team player too, that no one even knows how good he is. Wait till this year, he has team mates around him, his numbers are gonna be through the roof. The only problem is that stupid green jersey hes gonna be wearing. It should be Orange and Blue and say New York across the front, but Isiah sucks.

Kobe, hands down, I don't know how many of you guys play basketball, but it is pretty hard to score 81 points in one game and do it shooting 56% just watch that game, you can find it on youtube. I like what mike j said, steve nash already has, and has had great players around him, give kobe just one of those guys and it's a championship (amare, & marion, barbosa and bell are horrible, watch kobe lock up barbosa at the world championships)

I got love for T-Mac but Kobe Bryant just because he's the closest will ever get to Wilt's 100 point and 50.2 point season.
