Two reasons:
1. Oakland is just not a very good team the past few years. A receiver is only as good as the team around him.
2. He was not motivated. Moss has a history of not really giving full effort unless he is motivated. I am not a Moss fan, but I can not really blame him for not being motivated in Oakland, it was a really crappy situation. Obviously he is motivated this year. When he puts forth full effort, he is one of the best.

Moss wasn't the one that was ineffective, it was the offensive line, the lack of a quality quarterback, and the fact that Moss was the only true receiver that Oakland had.
Isn't it ironic, that now, D. Culpepper is Oakland's quarterback, the same one that hooked up with Moss on numerous occasions in Minnesota.
Moss, of course, is now reeling in throws from T. Brady in New England, and every one seems to be getting along fine there.

This is a question that has puzzled people for a long time. Cause Oaklands team sucks. Their fans suck. Their owner sucks. Their city sucks. Their mayor sucks. Their governor sucks. Even their leaf blowers find a way to suck. Its contagious. The city and everything in it just sucks. Scientist have tried to figure out why, but when they enter city limits, even the scientists then suck. It's like the bermuda triangle, one of those mysteries of the world. When Randy Moss went into oakland, the suck just got a hold of him. I'm sure he tried to fight it off but no one can. Once he was out he was fine, but there is just something about Oakland.

Moss (unlike T.O.) was a perpetually overpaid whiner (T.O. at least did his job, for all of his teams). He's finally performing to the best of his ability because he knows that New England is the last stop... If he doesn't do it for Beli and Brady, he's damaged goods, and will never command the money he's used to making... His primary incentive is his marketability. Nothing more. It's just a shame that talent has been wasted for so long, only to end up where it's not really needed.

He would routinely quit on plays in Oakland. He is mentally weak. A huge talent who constantly needs his ego stroked. He was suppose to be a leader over there, and he failed as such. Moss will continue to be successful as long as Brady is the QB.

Moss was ineffective because they had no QB to throw it to him. Now they have better Qbs in and if mass still played for them he would do a hole lot better. Look at him now.

He was the only real superstar on the team, so got plenty of defensive attention. The bigger problem wasthat he no longer had the chance to make long highlight reel catches on a winning team, and he was not willing to put in the effort to make routine plays for a crappy team. It's not like he lost his talent for a couple years and suddenly gained it back this year - he knows in NE he can put himself back into the running for greatest current WR, so he is playing hard, and getting tons of other offensive support.

Moss plays well when he wants to. He wanted to be traded and when he wasn't he drops balls to show his distatste for the team.

Because he has a ton of ability, and not a lick of sense. He operates on impulse and emotion. Bad mood, bad play. Pouty. Things go well, plays even better. Just his personality.

Apparently your another person who doesn,t know @$#% about football..... Moss would have rather burried his big *** afro in the Oakland dirt on the field then to have to catch another pass for their franchise, Moss chose to suck so he would be traded.
