I have three sdram 128 MB cards but my computer is still slower than I'd like and i am out of slots to add more ram, although i have a card slot where i removed the old internal dial up modem card (also have three other large slots next to that one).
I know there is a card you can add (like a moden card or video card) to get more ram slots, what is it called so i can get one?

Okay since no one else seems to know what it is, what you are looking for is called a riser card, and yes they do exist. HOWEVER, they are hard to find, and are generally meant for servers and not home computers. You would be far better off trying to replace the current cards with bigger ones, or simply investing in a new computer.

Truthfully if you are still running SDRAM on your computer then you should save your money and get a newer computer. Otherwise you're just still going to pump money into a computer that is outdated which isn't worth it.

The computer can only do so much, an analogy would be trying to turbo charge a 3cyl Geo

You can probably get a low budget computer that cost around the $300 range and it will outperform your computer if you try to upgrade your RAM which cost about $20-50 a piece.

No, it doesn't work like that. The RAM slots are different from slots for other hardware like video or modems. You'll either have to buy new RAM sticks with higher memory or get a new motherboard and build a new computer.

Can you replace the 128 MB cards with 256 MB cards? Not sure which particular 'size' card your computer uses or will accept but thats what I would check into first because you could double your ram if you were able to replace them.

Assuming you nonetheless have a reminiscence slot empty, you may actually upload extra reminiscence to your pc. it relatively is often suitable to get one that is of a similar specs via fact the single you have already got put in yet whilst by some probability you have already got one that is of distinctive speed than the single already put in, make sure the slower one is on the 1st DIMM slot, this could be DIMM 0 or DIMM a million. in case you have a DIMM 0 and you placed the slower one there, insert the 2d stick onto DIMM a million. Your pc will use the fee of the slower reminiscence.

Get bigger sticks of RAM and replace the 128MB ones. You slow computer might also be caused by Spyware or Viruses. Also, perform a Defrag on your hard drive. Use the following programs to scan for and remove viruses and spyware and to clean up your computer:

I think you're misunderstanding the function of those cards you mentioned, they're not for RAM, but to simulate a (very fast) SATA harddrive. Here's what I think you're talking about: http://techreport.com/articles.x/9312

To add more memory you should seek to increase the size of your current sticks like the people above mentioned.
