A cork from a bottle shoots out at an angle of 20degrees above the horizontal. If the cork travels a horizontal distance of 1.30m in 1.25seconds, what is the intial speed??

Thanks sooo much for the help. It is appreciated! :)

Horizontal velocity = 1.3/1.25 neglecting friction. Understand that the acceleration or deceleration is only in the vertical direction.

So, Vh = 1.04 m/s

cos 20 = 1.04/V where V is the initial velocity

V = 1.04/cos20 = 1.04/0.9397

= 1.1067 m/s

You may round it off as 1.11 m/s
