Now I don't personally believe in horoscopes, but I do find them amusing and sometimes enlightening. So the following email from astrology.com was very interesting to me:

"The Nine of Wands card suggests that my power today lies in remarkable gratitude. I am not a victim. There are no lost causes. "I've been there, done that, and know suffering -- but it's all good." I'm still standing. "Can't touch this." Self-pity is an excuse to do nothing. To appeal to sympathy for pity's sake is to seek affirmation of the choice to do nothing. I am empowered by the spirit and support of meaningful experience and I transform with silent resilience. "

I especially liked the "Self-pity is an excuse to do nothing." part. What's your reaction? (:

akinyemiokes2 - I understand your point, but I (aside from God) am my own source. I don't rely on anyone else to make decisions/choices for me. But I do take in information from all sorts of sources to enrich/change/cement my own.

I would have to go with enlightening. Sometimes humorous other times it just a bunch of junk.
This particular one you posted however I find a tad bit close to home.

Numerology is any belief in divine, mystical or other special relationship between a number and some coinciding events. It's an occult science that I consider fascinating. I started to study numerology because of my obsession with Mathematics, Geometry. What I discovered it's really incredibble.

That is cute...I may subscribe...me and horoscopes have had a nice relationship...we were closer when I was younger...I spent my day trying to follow what the horoscope warned...however I always had two to choose from because I was born on the cusp of Aries and Taurus...now not so much...I can say hardly ever...but when I do run across them they remind me of a simpler time in life...I believe in destiny,Karma, and opportunity...so yeah horoscopes are enlightening and not junk...but they are not my life..

I typically read my horoscope on Yahoo, but I never put any stock into it. Every single Aries in the world has the same prediction for today as I do, so I don't really see how this is beneficial to me. I'm actually very amused by people who put their undying faith into horoscopes though. They're just fun.

I'm imagining one of those soothing woeful female fortune-teller voices saying all of this, and then out of nowhere MC Hammer comes out with, "Can't touch this." Then it goes right back to the fortune-teller.

Self-pity is a plight for attention. Those who choose to wade in their own despair rather than get out of the pool o' depression are going to be miserable for as long as they choose to do nothing. I don't think self pity is a reason to do nothing, persay, but for weak people it does usually lead to such a conclusion.
