dont worry he will be fine, breastfeeding can help this, because of all the good nutrients it contains, she try expressing for the nurses to feed him and feed him yourself when he is with you. he wont be there long, you will be together soon, next 2 days probably if not before, but get plenty of rest when you are at home, because the labour takes a lot out of you and you need your rest. good luck :)

Don't worry - like they say, jaundice are common nowadays. My darling daughter (our first child) was born with jaundice and we can only bring her home on the 7th day and then on the 10th day the jaundice was up again and she has to be hospitalised. The jaundice was up and down for nearly FORTY DAYS. She was in and out from the hospital during these 40 days. Just imagine how stressful the experience was for me and my wife. But she is now 4 years old n she is a very healthy and happy kid. So, don't worry so much.....

My daughter had jaundice too... I was able to stay in the hospital with her, in the room and take care of her, thankfully, otherwise I think i'd have lost my mind! Check with his doctor, but my daughter was in there for 3 days (1 under the lights full time, and 2 on and off lights) ... good luck to you..

Jaundice is so common now that its nothing to worry about. I understand your concern though, its your new baby and you want it home with you. At least you know he is getting the best of care and I am sure you will be with him soon.

Jaundice peaks, once it peaks his levels will come down and he can go home.
My son had jaundice, it peaked on the 2nd day, and by the night of the 3rd I took him home.
you should be there with him, for his sake and yours.

Not a big deal. One or two days at most. Very common. Rejoice in your little yellow wonder.
