3rd rock from the sun

2007-10-05 03:53:58 · answer #1 · answered by rich b 3 · 0 0

That is a very vague question. It is the third planet from the sun, holds oxygen due to the fact earth has an atmosphere/ozone layer. Earth is a geoid meaning the earth is not a sphere.. a sphere means it would be a complete circle with no elevations in it. The earth is not exactly circular so it is a geiod. The only planet in the solar system to harbor life as we know at the moment and harbor oxygen for that matter.

Earth is one of the planets revolving around the sun and is the only planet in our solar system where life exists.

earth, uncapitalized means dirt, or soil.
Earth, capitalized, means the third planet of our solar system.

Use wikipedia.org in case you want more information on the planet. But the way you wrote your question, the answer is soil or dirt.

Earth is our home and a very beautiful one but a very fragile one. It is a totally self sustained, regenerating world, rare amongst it's surrounding planets.
