Chelios last season that showed any promise was 2001/2002. It just somehow seems wrong to keep putting him on the ice... it hurts the team when you could have a better younger defensemen on the team. I think he'd be better off retiring and being remembered as a good defensemen rather than that guy that just doesn't know when to quit...

That is Chelios' goal.
Ken Holland said this past June that as long as Chelios puts in the work effort, and shows up to camp in shape, he sees no reason why he can't.
Of course Ken said it will be looked at on a year by year basis too.
I'd like to see him do it. I hated Chelios originally (trading Denis Savard for him may have had a lot to do with that) but as I got tto know him he grew on me.

No, He said that we wants to play till 51 but not 52 because he doesn't to beat mr hockey(Gordie Howe).

chelie has said that he'll stop before he gets to be 52. he said he wants to leave gordies record gordies. and that he'll be happy being number two.
