These are the things i did, and i tested it once and it said that the nat settings were open, and then i tested it a second later and it went to moderate:

- changed MTU from 1500 to 1350
- uPnP is enabled
- Disabled Filter Nat redirection
- Talked to a linksys consultant, and he gave me the wrong instructions to forward the ports, which did not work

what do i do? I have a wireless/wired linksys wrt54gc

I suspect you really do not know what you need to do and further really do not understand what you are doing or what you are asking.

You do not change the NAT settings. Doing this is not possible and were it possible it would be a disaster.

Your router provides LAN IP addresses using Dynamic Host Configuraiton Protocol (DHCP) which I presume you have enabled. You need to define the dynamic LAN IP address range so that there are IP addresses available for static assignment. Let's assume your LAN uses the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet with your router being assigned 192.168.1.1 as its IP, subnet being 255.255.255.0 (24 bit) and default gateway also 192.168.1.1. Let's assume your DHCP range is now set at 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.255. Change it to free up some addresses for static devices. I suggest you make the range 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.255. If you have any static IP devices in that range, change them with the first device being 192.168.1.2, second being 192.168.1.3, etc.

Now assign a static IP to your Halo device. Let's assume the next available static IP is 192.168.2.9 and you assign this, with subnet (24 bit) 255.255.255.0, default gateway 192.168.2.1.

Record and keep a record of all assigned static IP on your network so you do not end up duplicating it.

Now back to the router - check up on Port Forwarding on the router. It will ask you the port #, if you are to use TCP or UDP, and the LAN IP of the device to which you are to forward - and you need to specify as the Halo directs for port #, TCP vs UDP, and the static IP you assigned (192.168.1.9 in my example).

Port forwarding means that any inbound to your public IP with the specified port # will be sent to the LAN device with the specified LAN IP address.

Carefully read what I wrote; compare it to the specific instructions for your router from your router manual and the Halo device; then follow the directions. Note exactly what you did (there is no shame in recording things as no one can remember things). If you get stuck, start a new question telling what you did and the results.

hi,

just login in to your router & go to NAT section:

NAT -- Virtual Servers Setup

Virtual Server allows you to direct incoming traffic from WAN side (identified by Protocol and External port) to the Internal server with private IP address on the LAN side. The Internal port is required only if the external port needs to be converted to a different port number used by the server on the LAN side. A maximum 32 entries can be configured.

Juat select whatever game you want to allow and enter your router ip address like 192.168.1.1 as local server IP address.

Paresh

after you change the setting and confirm, you need to save setting

try find a button/link called 'save setting' at main menu and click on it

your router must be something wrong, because impossible cannot you know!

it must be the BUG in the router page, PLEASE UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE and reconfigure your router setting!!!!!!!!!!

IF still cannot, then your router probably "store water(mean your router something wrong)", please change a new router
