I accidentally slammed the car door on my pinky finger. What do I do?

What should I do to stop the pain and make it heal faster? Coz I know the nail is going to die, and I have to wait forever for a new nail to grow back.

I slammed the car door on my pinky when I was 8. My mom brought me to my grandmas house because she didnt know what to do. My grandma put neosporin on it and gauze and the next day I went to the doctor. He had to pull off the entire nail (it was kinda dangling) and I think he cut some kind of cord after the nail came off. I might have been hallucinating though so Im not sure about that one. My nail did grow back fully after I wanna say 3 months but the nail has never looked the same. I suggest going to the doctors. Good Luck!

It may be unnecessary, but I say have it checked out. When I was 10 I had my pinky slammed between two of those little 4 wheeled boogie board things in gym class and the school nurse told my parents he did not think my finger was broken. Flash forward 15 years later, I have a pinky finger that is visibly crooked and has not bent since I was 10. It was broken and never set so when it healed it healed wrong, and never bent again. My mom was so afraid of looking neglectful she never took me to the doctor for it. I had it checked as an adult and it is too late, the damage is done. That was a really long story for have it checked out. I hope its nothing, good luck.

i say go get it checked out because your finger can become infected....i know your in pain i wish you well.
