On good morning america a story on Obama came on about him refusing to wear an american flag pin. It also talks about hillary "rarely" wearing one also.

In addition to their vote on voting against english as the official american language and extending benefits to illegal aliens isn't this more proof that they are anti-american?

Aren't they running for the "american presidency?"

Any ideas out there?

Clearly they are both globalists and don't really have the best interests of the USA at heart. They don't need to not wear pins for any open-minded person to see that.....

Not that wearing a pin makes you patriotic as an after affect, but it does say something about your attitudes and values. I'm not saying that a public figure, a congressional representative that doesn't wear a pin is any less patriotic by the mere fact that they're not wearing a pin. I mean, you've got to shower some time! But democrats, on the whole, tend to see the flag as a representation of 'America'...go figure, right? And America is not what they want it to be. They're very unhappy with America right now. VERY unhappy. And they've been unhappy with America for decades. In fact, they're so disgusted by it that being disgusted with America has become almost synonymous with the liberal culture. As a result, the flag is a symbol of a nation that they, at some level, currently despise. And that's sort of the problem we're having right now. They despise the current 'incarnation' of America and so they find the symbol of that incarnation equally distasteful. If you 'wear a flag', it means you support the current incarnation of America and they can't bring themselves to do that.

Now me? I'm a conservative and I found the whole Clinton era incredibly distasteful. But I was able to separate my country from the government and the liberal segment of the population that I found so destructive. And yet I had a flag on my car the entire time. Not because it made me 'more patriotic', but I wanted...I WANTED...to communicate my incredible pride in my country. A pride I felt despite Clinton and despite the left. Liberals, it seems, can't separate this and as a result, it must just suck to go through life so constantly and utterly disgusted with your country, your home.

Most of the Presidential candidates don't wear one, only 9/11 Giuliani does all the time.
You have to be pretty simpleminded to really believe that wearing a pin for all to see makes you a patriotic American.
If it were that easy you could wear it and fool the weak-minded and still do whatever you want.
Obama refused to wear a pin for that reason, its pointless and only fools the foolish.
I don't agree about not having English as the official, or at least primary language, nor do I support benefits for adult illegals, ( I can't bring myself to let kids go without) but I have to think that overall, the Democrats are coming up with some new and fresh ideas for the things that I am interested in, like health care and education costs.
Much more important than wearing a pin made in China.

it fairly is an illustration issues are convalescing, even though it does not instruct something yet. there continues to be an prolonged thank you to pass in Iraq. How long can we ought to maintain troops in Fallujah and could the insurgents return as quickly as we ultimately leave there? As for the decrease and run liberals, they're forcing me to lose faith in the Democrat occasion. they say there is not any desire for salvaging our venture in Iraq, and that i do no longer think of it fairly is genuine and intensely un-American. i do no longer think of there is something individuals can no longer do if we placed our minds to it. The Democrats could desire to have seen strategic ideas for correcting our venture in Iraq, taken possession of the concern, and gain the honor as quickly as we ultimately do be useful. Now they appear as if Bush did earlier the troop surge, the bullheaded prigs that shop on with what they have faith to be genuine relatively than observing what's genuine. Bush looks clever by assessment via fact he became the 1st to do a innovations-set replace.

It appears they are both working hard at making all symbols of patriotism appear undesirable, or somehow concocted and/or contrived, un-PC.

I believe it is part of the dems' behind the scenes efforts toward global unification by first taking away and demeaning our national pride.

It is just another baby step toward a much larger goal and it is these baby steps that makes the democrats so dangerous.

Mark my words and really think about what their agenda truly is and what this newest development is itself symbolic of.

If my lapel pin is as big as my head is that patriotic enough!

They are making a statement that 'idols' of patriotism doesn't prove someone is patriotic.

True patriotism comes from what you say and do not what you wear or how many flags or false symbols!

I saw the same report. You did not mention that John McCain never wears one. I suppose he must be completely un-American.

By the way. Obama does not 'refuse' to wear it. He does wear a lapel pin from time to time, but not regularly. His response was it was more important to show his patriotism in deeds that with accessories.

what he said was he thought the pin was a substitute for real patriotism, a symbol when what we need is action.

I feel the same way Obama feels. We can wear pins on our lapels, we can slap yellow "support the troops" magnets on our cars and suddenly we're patriotic. Sorry, but actions speak louder than words.
Obama's point is well taken. He sees the flag pin-wearing group as people who support the war. To call him unpatriotic or anti-American is absurd. Since when do we have to wear flag pins to show our patriotism?
