Governments and large corporations enslave the entire world.
They try to trick us by telling us we need them to watch over us and to hold our social security money because we are not cabable of doing so ourselves.They dangle shinny new toys for us to buy.

Somebody beat me to it, but it should be said at least twice anyway, that the answer to your question is Dick Cheney. He is able to do it because US airwaves were de-regulated and, along with the school system, handed over to the military industrial complex.
