The secret is that nothing out of the ordinary happens there.
The stories are made-up or exaggerated.
Statistically, no more boats and planes are ever lost there than are sunk in any number of other locations. The ocean is big and deep and things that sink in it can disappear for ever.

terrestrial electromagnetism, has a coincident gravitational vortex that when it interacts produces a dimensional door towards the space time, and the boats and airplanes do not disappear, single they are in another dimension and as in the Philadelphia project, someday can appear again anywhere of the planet

Some believe there is a 'black hole' at the bottom of the ocean. This is an ocean floor that has not been explored. It has been therorized that the black hole is connected to another black hole on the other side of the planet @ the ocean floor. It is a mystery.

i guess there really is no secret...
humans exaggerated the disappearance thing...
from what i read, the number of disappearances in the area wasn't that different to other parts of the ocean...
disappearances are reported, but when the ship returns to the port, it is not. thus people still believe that the boat/ ship sank...
i guess.... (+_+)

there is a giant sea monster that comes out of the water and sucks up all the ships and planes. that is why they can not find the wreckage of any of the missing ships or planes.

there is more gravitational force in that particular area and due to it it attracts all the things towards and even machines stop functioning even - discovery
