You gotta move saving to the top of the priority list. It's the only way it will work. Then you gotta pay down your current debts. Start with the smallest one, and pay it off. Then go to the next smallest and do the same. Do this continuously until you have no debts except big ticket items like cars or homes.

The hardest part is controlling your impulse buying and using your charge cards. Reduce your charge cards to only one. Use cash whenever you purchase.

Once you've gotten down to a no debt situation, do the following: if you are a church-goer, set aside the first 10% for your church. If not, skip that step. Then set aside the next 10-20% for savings.

Good luck!!! What you are doing is very commendable and very hard.

Before you sit down and pay all your bills, pay yourself first! Even if it is only $10.00, put it into your savings or IRA and it will build faster than you think! Also, look over your bills and see what items you can live without; cable, internet service, cell phone? Dropping these items just might help you become healthier too! You can walk to the library to use the internet and if you drop your cable you won't be sitting on you butt in front of the tv. You could get NetFlix for $10 monthly in its place if you really want something to watch at night. Simply dropping these three items saved me $200 monthly, and I lost 25 lbs! Good luck!

The biggest mistake people make is treating savings like an afterthought. Most people get paid, pay their bills, and then spend the rest on food, entertainment, etc. They only save if they have money left over at the end of the cycle. You are better off treating savings like a bill. Put money into your savings account immediately after you get paid. You can always withdraw it if it gets tights, but create the discipline of doing this.

Yes, I played the Heimlich maneuver on a buyer in our household's eating place whilst I was once sixteen or 17....he was once very panicky and turning blue; he had gotten out of his chair and was once jogging round flailing his hands, and whilst I noticed his blue face I learned directly what the problem was once. I have additionally had my lifestyles stored. My sister stored my lifestyles whilst I was once approximately 5 - 6...we had been swimming within the regional "swimming gap"...and I was once in a "trance-like" state, mendacity in water over my head, not able, for some thing motive, to transport...I am distinct I might have drowned had she no longer come and brought me from the water...it is all a indistinct reminiscence, however I realize she stored my lifestyles that summer season day, and I might be without end thankful!
