I'd go with 2. I like the more psychological killers that taunt and play with their victims, aka, Saw, Hostel, even the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. They get pleasure out of taunting and killing and it comes across better on the screen, especially when some of the characters that you care about get a chance to escape.
House of 1000 Corpses played off of this, as well as The Devil's Rejects and Wolf Creek.
These are psychos that have no compassion but to kill and give pain, it makes for a more interesting watch. It doesn't have to be super gory either to be good, movies like Jack's Back is a perfect example. It's not well known but it's a great psychological kill fest. Also look at 7, what a flick that was!
The Jason movies get old really fast, just like the Halloween movies (except for the original where you actually wondered what made that killing machine want to do that).

Definitely mind games, horror that mixes with thriller and has some brains. Also leaves some of the mystery up to the imagination of the viewer, instead of just straight up blood and guts shock value.
I love the new breed of Asian horror that's made a splash in recent years. Just can't get enough of it. They are intelligently made, well produced and creepy as hell.

I enjoy both. #1 is kind of like the older slasher flicks like Friday the 13th and Halloween. And #2 is something like Jigsaw in the saw movies. And I'm a fan of both of those kinds of movies.

you like an iconic weapon? How a pair of Bolas, used for searching prey and tripping human beings in wars. they're thrown and entangle the prey. It facilitates you to charm to out the time of the dying scenes, construction stress in the chase. and you stated he cherished killing animals slowly, this may be the suited weapon to permit him to stand up capture and search out an animal, so he must be very experienced after years of utilising it

I actually like both; such as Jason for # 1, and--actually, I can't really think of any for # 2 right now, but I do like them also.

#2 is far better. Hannibal Lecter is far scarier and more plausible than Jason from "Friday the 13th"
