Thank you for serving in Iraq. When you get back, you should take a few months to rest, find your place back home again, and de-stress. Don't immediately get married. Wait until you have bonded again emotionally with everyone in your life. If I were you, I'd wait 3 to 6 months anyway, no matter what the law is. You will need that time. If you rush into a marriage, you may divorce later. Wait. Rest. Plan. Then marry.

I was once married to a military man. It's better to not make huge changes (like getting married) when you get back from Iraq. Wait, get re-acclimated to life without bombs going off and shooting before you make a major life change like marriage. She also needs to have some time as a single woman before she signs on to being a wife again. Don't rush into anything.
