No, it doesn't get better, it auctually gets progresively worse until the end, which is hirod!
Do you have to read it for school? I wish they'd make us read good/fun books, but no! They want us to read the dullest pieces of litirature ever concived!

It's a great book, especially the part near the end when the alien mothership comes down and takes everyone back to their home planet, but not before Boo Radley is named king of the Vanutians of Sector 7 in the Delta Quadrant...

This is one of my favorites! It does get a lot better. I thought the same as you...it was so boring and hard to read, but it gets a lot better, and then we watched the movie after we read it, that kinda helps a little as you know what is about to happen but being able to actually see it helps you piece it together in your mind.

If all else fails and you have to take a test on it just go to http://www.sparknotes.com

Good Luck!

To Kill a Mocking Bird is a very sad story, but it is written in the most lyrical language of any book I have ever read.Keep on reading and you will enjoy it.

Yes, keep reading.

The author is trying to set the stage. Try to imagine yourself as a little girl like Scout and open yourself up to the idea of how her world was so very different from yours.

When things come to a head, its fairly powerful reading.

Not a lot no but it does pick up somewhat.

I had to read it for grade 9 english, be glad you do not have to read Barometer Rising which is about the Halifax explosion it is about a billion pages long.

Sounds like you are too young or naive to understand the concept of the book and how it relates to Southern racism. Read it when you have matured or experienced more of life.

When I read it in 8th grade I was "meh" about it.

When I read it as an adult, it became one of my favourite. I have read it about 10 times. Don't give up on it. It is a fantastic book. If it doesn't do it for you now, please give it another shot when you're older.
