I remember Ponting's initial years and they were very similar to Clarke's! Ponting took a while to establish himself but soon enough was the king pin in the batting order behind Mark Waugh. Is Clarke capable of doing that?

As far as batting and fielding are concerned, there is every chance that Clarke can equal Ponting in the future or even outshine him.
But as far as captaincy is concerned i don't think no one can equal Punter's astuteness and the ability to lead his team to victory from the most impossible of situations.
