I've only been watching off and on and I saw last season where he was hit by a bus and then I caught part of last night where Pratt and Morris were cleaning out Ray's locker. Did he die?

Ray was drunk and was walking in traffic when he got a call from Neela (who was going to tell him that she loved him) and Ray got ran over by a bus and lost his legs...

Ray was gone and missing and then found and taken to the ER...it was sad and Neela was trying to tell Ray that she loved him, but he had to leave to go to his Mom's in Louisiana...

That other chick that Ray was banging told Neela "Just leave him alone, haven't you done enough?"

Then Ray was gone and I don't think he's coming back

I just happened across this list because I wasn't sure what happened to Ray either as that's the only episode I missed and my DVR didn't get it either.

Also, in the last episode, it was revealed that he's living in New Orleans because when Pratt and Morris were cleaning out his locker, the were talking about going to visit him down in Louisiana and taking in a Saints game with him.

They came across his skates in his locker and Morris was sizing them up and Pratt was like "don't even think about it" and Morris said something like "Well it's not like he will be needing them." So I knew something happened to his feet or legs. That's why I did a google search and found this link. Thanks for filling me in folks.

Interestingly, I believe I heard somewhere that Ray's real life actor is from there.

Anyway, I'm an ER fan from the beginning, and unlike many defectors, I'm still hooked on the show and think it's made a nice comeback. I admit it got stale a bit here and there, but the newer cast and writers, in my opinion, are still making the show as interesting or more than all the other copycat, wannabe medical drama's out there.

The only other one that's grown on me since I'm a ER addict is Scrubs, but it's a different genre and compliments ER well with comedy.

Cheers.

They had to cut off his legs at the knees because of getting hit by a car/van/bus (I dont remember completely). He went to live with his mother, now that he is confined to a wheelchair. I'm not sure whether he will be back, my guess is he wont be, or at least not back working in the ER.

He was paralyzed or an amputee ( I don't remember) after being hit and his mother took him back to Louisianna. She didn't want him around Neala. She blamed her for Ray trying to kill himself.

I don't know if they will bring him back. Shane West has done two movies since leaving.
