I used to drink a lot of coke and was always popping a Rolaid or a Tums. When I switched to diet drinks the heart burn stopped immediately. I noticed when on a protein regimen there is never any heart burn.
I don't take Maalox, Milk of Magnesia, Pepto Bismal, or other types of antacid.
But anyway, water and club soda, and milk can all be helpful in getting rid of acid.
In the military in the 60's if you had acid stomach they would give you "phenodonna". (Not belladonna-that's poison).
Hope this helps.

Ginger
Gingerale
Baking soda and water
Milk (be careful, though. It could have a rebound effect. Works for me, though.)
Avoid vinegar, spicy foods, tomato based foods and sugary foods.
