If the 80% that want illegals out of this country use it as a single issue, he will win. Bush recieved two terms because of his stance on abortion. Just now the pro-life movement is finding out that he never intended to do anything. As for Iraq, we are there that is a given. We really should clean up our mess. I did not agree withthe reasoning to go in, but we are there.

Yeah! Hillary and Obama try to hard to say what people want to here and both are running on on issues hoping to get votes simply because people hate bush. The other candidates are no better. Ron Paul is the only one talk about restoring America to a land of free and proud people. We will be back in the good graces of the world and probably reduce get back to a surplus. Plus with him everyone wins since he wants to give powers back to the states according to the constitution. He should start his own party eventually. Is there one called "Constitutionalist" already?
RON PAUL will win!!!

Absolutely he can win. We are the voters. It is ultimately our decision.

For too long now we have allowed the media and the parties to determine what pathetic choices we are given. The choices are not about the nation, but about the parties and the current political system they have created. Why should any American care if the Republican or Democratic parties exist for one more day?? They should never have or wield the kind of power they do in our society.

We need to have a president who is president of these United States and not the chief representative of the Republican or Democratic Party. The White House is our house...it is not the defacto HQ for one of the two political parties.

Ron Paul has his allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and not to either party.

He is exactly what this country needs. This Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton baloney is just more of the same and will not bring substantive change to this nation.

Ron Paul is the kind of candidate who will bring real change and some of it could be scary...but that doesn't mean it isn't good for the country.

The current model ain't working...so let's try something new.

Dr. Paul probably cannot win the GOP nomination. He lacks the institutional support of the party machine.
The hope for "Ron Paul Republicans" lays not in victory, but in legacy. In his grassroot and internet support turning into a full fledged wing of the party that, in 2 to 4 elections, will seize control of the GOP. Much as the conservative wing of the party finally wrestled control of the GOP from the Dewy/Rockefeller wing in 1964.

I think if he gets the money he wants to raise by dec 31 -(ronpaul2008.com) and mobilizes the volunteers into recruiting more supporters (who register republican )and more volunteers he will surprise a lot of people with the republican nomination - personally I feel that all the upper tier candidates (whether rep or dem ) have the same agenda - continue war in Iraq (some will remove SOME troops but none all ) illegal immigration amnesty -and support for corporate welfare while the rest of us pay in the long run -I refuse to give my vote to the republocrats and I think many people will be jumping on board in the near future to change americas course and bring greatness prestige and wealth for all for future generations as well as todays

While I don't agree with all of his policies, I may agree with enough of them to vote for him.

Some conservatives claim he is a liberal but, I don’t think they have actually dug into his stances or his voting record. He is no Lefty.

Most importantly is not a part of the neo-con clique. He is an outsider and that is exactly what this nation needs. Someone who has not been bought by the Left or the Right. Someone who is genuinely interested in bringing this great nation back to the roots of the republic that made it great to begin with…

masterplumber1975 - brings up a great point. I do really fear for his life if he does get elected… God bless him.

The liberal media is totally against exposure to any candidate that is not w/in the democratic party. He will have to gain his support from word of mouth/internet. If we can win a party's nomination, he will have a chance of winning the Presidency.

You are wrong. His only support comes from people who try to drum up support here on Y! Answers. He will not win. I will not vote for him.

Yes he has a great shot but admit it the elections are rigged and the winner is whoever the shadow government wants. He would be killed before they would let him do the things he wanted. Hence Kennedy style, wanting to give government back to the people will get you killed.

Not unless there is a major groundswell of support for him. I believe that the Internet can do this, but it is going to take the courage of each individuals convictions to vote for him when the pundits tell us daily that he is a spoiler.
