Do you have one of those like strobe black lights. That with fog makes it soooo spooky. My dad did that in his garage one year when i was kid. He also dressed up as Aunt Jamama (sp?) the maple syrup lady. This big tall bald guy was "painted" black all over and had the big flowing stuffed dress and all. He just stood there really still with a big bowl and wooden spoon pretending to mix in the bowl and everyone thought he was a "fake" and would go up to touch him and then he would jump at them. It was hilarious.

I don't know about anyone else but my sons and I go out every year. I drive slowly along the curbs with the windows rolled down as they walk along the sidewalks doing their "Trick or Treating". In our town that usually lasts from about 6-8 and sometimes 5-9 PM but we usually stay out 2 hours tops. :o)
We tried to stay home one year to watch scary movies on DVDs and pass out the candies and we only got one child that came to our home. It is because we live on a busy road without sidewalks.
I would say that $200.00 worth of decorations must be quite a display, already and I bet the neighboring children will enjoy them. My children enjoy being scared the most, whenever they approach a home and someone sitting there in a chair, dressed in a costume, sitting really still, all of a sudden jumps up and scares them. :o)

I go all out too. in fact this is our third kids Halloween party, my daughter is 11 this year. the party is for her friends.
we made our own grave stones, Just like the the ones for 15 dollars, if your into crafts or know some little kids who like to paint use Styrofoam sheets (free at block busters, their candy comes in a box packed with it) use black and white paint and use a sponge to dab the paint on and they look better than the store's, use old sheets dyed black and rip them up some, hang one up and hang those cheep face masks all over them, with a black light they look cool. um,,,, make your stuff out of cardboard and paint, use your imagination. the great thing about Halloween decorations is that any thing goes and old stuff is great. make a mummy (we did) they are a big hit. make him great big and put him far away so you can just see that hi is weird and there. you can make coffins out of card board too. we did that too. use real wood if you want to spend $ the great thing about cardboard is you can throw it away when your done. black lights and strobe lights are scary and you cant see all the mistakes in your art work. have fun

lol. I used to when the kids were little but now I don't have to anymore. If you've spent $200 you've probably gotten most of everything. Did you get the spooky doormat that moans when they step on it? The hanging witchie poos that make noise when they come up? The fog machine is pretty cool too - I got mine at WalMart and now I just use it for kinky sex. â¥

Try buying in bulk on Ebay ... I saved thousands doing that for my wedding so I don't see why you couldn't do it for Halloween
But no I live in England so there's no real Halloween here but as a kid I went trick or treating in Philadelphia .. Miles upon miles of row homes lined with people giving out candy! It was amazing and god I ended up so sick

Create scare-crows out of dry shrubs and bushes with an old baby-bonnet some rotten carrots and potatoes. I think these kind of stuff you can collect freely in the market-place.

you've spent enough on decorations. spend that hard earned money on some supersized candy bars. that's what the kids want... and their mommies.
