tirerack.com is an excellent place to start. Off-set wheels ruin front end geometry. If you were to draw a line down the length of the dead center of your struts the line will continue to the center of your tire patch. If the wheels are off-set to the street side of the car the steering wheel will tend to try to pull itself straight while braking in corners. You will feel it pulling in your hands.
Off-set wheels also seriously shorten the life of your very expensive wheel bearings which are pressed inside your spindles. What you could do however is consult with tirerack (toll free #) and they'll advise you what wheels will properly fit your car. If you're lucky you may be able to cheat the off set INWARD which will allow you to have an equal space Outward so you'll be able to have a WIDER wheel which will not effect the steering geometry.
