I wanted to buy some memory for my Asus P5K Deluxe mobo. I'm pretty sure its dual-channel. First, will it still be dual-channel if there are 4 sticks and not two? Which is better, to buy 2 sticks of 2gb, or 4 sticks of 1gb?

2x2Gb now would be fine for 64bit environment. You have room to expand to 8Gb. Single or double matched pair would work in dual channel mode. BUT 4Gb is not worth it in a 32bit environment.

Depending on the motherboard, having 4 sticks may be better then 2 as the system can read and write to them faster. (Only so much data can be sent per slot during any given time period).

The trade off is that you can't add more memory later without replacing existing sticks.

A little bit better coz if you want to find files, at least you have them on 2 memorys sticks instead of havin 4.
