On paper communism is a very noble idea. However the problem comes in when trying to implement it. SOMEONE has to be responsible for redistributing the wealth so that everyone has an equal portion of the pie. This is where selfishness and prejudices come into play, which is what happened in the U.S.S.R. At the end of the day, all communism achieves is the eradication of the middle class. Those in charge of the distribution of wealth get their cut first, and the lions share of it, and the rest is divided up by the low class.
So yes Communism is a utopian dream that can only be achieved in a world where there are no selfish and prejudiced people.

I'd call it a nightmare. Flawed though it may be, a price-directed economy is the only one that benefits the most people. The noted British economist Lionel Robbins defined economics as: The study of the use of scare resources which have alternative uses."
Need an example? In a price-directed economy, scarce resources are directed to their most efficient use. How many typewriter companies are currently in business? Efficiency demanded that the scare resources which have alternative uses be directed away from manufacturing typewriters and directed to the manufacture of computers.
In a communist command-economy, those scarce resources would have continued flowing to typewriter manufacturers until, at some point, the information about the declining sales of typewriters finally reached the bureaucrats in charge. That might take years.

Communism is an unrealistic and failed idea.
It failed to take into account the fact that people work best when rewarded for extra effort.
When you get paid the same amount no matter how you perform on the job there is no incentive for creativity, extra effort, problem solving, innovation... That leaves you with a stagnant economy that doesn't grow to meet the needs of the people it serves.

Yes. The ideology is not practical. Human being are greedy, they will never share what they have earn, more over they will try to grab others earnings. Secondly the communist themselves never knew what is communism . They oppose any thing that has not come from the communist mouth. It has failed in every part of the world biggest examples are China and Russia.

No and if you look closely, it just disguised and re-invented itself under other names. Compare what is rolling off of some people's lips and legislation being passed and compare it to the Ten Planks of Communism.

It is both a failed social and economic model. It has never worked effectively. People in Cuba have virtually no freedom. China has given up on the comunist economic model. They know that it does not work. And how about those prosperous North Koreans?

No, communism still exists. I would say though it is more of a nightmare than a dream.
