My friend is in the army and sent me one from Afghanistan so i could access his bank account, he sent a copy threw my Email so is it still valid or does it have to be the original copy wich is still in Afghanistan.

Depends which country you are in. UK banks would want to see the original.

So would American Banks. They want a Notorized copy of the Power of Attorney.

I believe that it would need to be notarized by someone there. My brother had this happen when he was over there, and he needed to have my mom become the power of attorney. You have to do things through the mail, because most places are only willing to work with the original documents. As long as it has the seal of the notary, you should be good to go.

Good luck, and take care of his business good. They are doing too much over there to get screwed. :)

You'd very likely need an originally signed copy. Ask the bank, they can tell you for sure what they require.
