I think all ducklings except for the ugly one have light yellow feathers
So a yellow duckling is normal. Rubber ducks are maybe designed to look young at their age to be more cute and popular
Yellow is a cheerful color for rubber ducks too

But yes, I think they are based on the real duckies' colors when they first come out. But of course, these days, they come in all different colors, just like any other decor or toys in the market.
