To check cervical length, you may have multiple transvaginal ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy. That saying, if you are more than 14 weeks pregnant, you may be able to determine the sex of your baby. I found out my son was a boy at a 14 week transvaginal ultrasound.

The baby's genitalia is generally not developed enough until 13 weeks. Transvaginal ultrasounds are generally done before this time, so if that is the case, then no. If for some reason you are having a transvaginal after 13 weeks, then there is a chance the sex could be determined, but it is most likely to be seen around 18 weeks.

You can have transvaginal u/s later in the pregnancy, I had one at 21 weeks and 1 at 25 weeks or so.. It wasn't possible to determine the sex from mine because both times the baby was head down, so thats the first thing you saw... However, when I had one of the transvaginal u/s done to verify my cervix length, I mentioned to the doc that they lady wouldnt tell me the sex of my baby at my 21 week u/s. So she layed me back down and just did a regular u/s. It generally just depends on how far along you are and how the baby is laying if they'll be able to tell the sex or not this way. Good luck!

Transvaginal ultrasound transducers (cameras) have a limited range of distance. So, if the baby is breech, and the baby is "sitting" on your cervix, it could be possible. But if the genitals are not near your cervix, that distance will be too far for the soundwaves to travel in order to get an image.
You could always sweet talk your ultrasound technologist and see if she could take a quick peek transabdominally......Good luck!

I don't think so, simply because that type of ultrasound is usually done very early in pregnancy. Typically, you will have a regular ultrasound after week 20, at which type they are able to see the gender of the baby.
It is still very exciting to see your week little one!
Good luck!

The forst answer is incorrect- I had 2 between 12 and 15 weeks. I believe it is harder to get a full view as you get further along, and it is most accurate through regular sonogram after 18 weeks.

i cant see why not....depends on how far along you are. If you are at least 18 weeks, they will probably see the sex organs.
If you are way past that, it might be hard to get baby in the right position to see anything.

They dont do those after 10 weeks, and the baby's genitals arent formed until 13 weeks, and you cant see them until around 15 weeks, better by 18.

I believe it can, if baby's old enough for its sex organs to be visible (18-20 weeks at the earliest.)
