How dare these people judge you & make nasty comments. If they don't have an answer, they shouldn't even respond. In some states late term abortion is legal under strict guidelines. Such as, the pregnancy is dangerous to the mother or the fetus has severe deformities. Late terms are not performed on women who don't want the baby, there must be a valid medical reason. Your best bet to find an answer is to call your local planned parenthood office or a obgyn and ask. Best of luck & seek support from an unbiased health professional.

As a registered nurse, I have witnessed these abortions, not a pretty site, especially when the child is still alive, and remains alive outside the womb. The cost emotionally for the mother is severe. This is something she has to live with the rest of her life. There may also be damage or even death to a woman if the procedure is not done correctly. Monetarily the costs start out from $300.00 and up into the thousands of dollars. Of course it being illegal doesn't stop some from getting abortions in back alleys or going to another country.
It is morally and ethically wrong, but that is my opinion.
I would ask this person prior to doing something so extreme by first going to counseling. If it was a case of rape or there is something wrong with the child, why did they wait so long? If it was not rape, and the child is healthy, I would advise mom to think about the consequences, yours and the living child within. Remember, adoption is a wonderful alternative.

just a thought for some posters.. maybe there is a valid reason this lady needs to know. It may be the child has major deformities with no chance of life, or with very poor quality, maybe constant horrific pain..
when i was 20 weeks gone with my 2nd child possible deformities showed, problems with the child's head.. best case may have been downs or spina bifida, worst case was anancephaly with a non functioning brain.. if it was that the baby would have been still born or lived seconds (zero brain function = NO life).. i may have had to opt for termination, hardly murder with a baby that is "brain dead" already........
thankfully a specialist scan ruled all conditions out, but even so my babe was born with another condition that was not 1st suspected.........
termination is not always done just to "get an easy way out"
mind that said the poster should have given more info as just how far into 2nd trimester and WHY so late etc...............

after the first trimester you will be very hard pressed to find anyone who would do an abortion...unless medically necessary,...then your insurance will cover it.. If not,.before the 10th week, you are looking at any where from $500-$5000, If you don't want to keep the baby, you will need to talk to your obgyn about adoption at this point, they can set everything up for you.

It just depends on what week you are. Usually it's over $600. Remember it gets pretty dangerous to do it that late...be careful.
EDIT- You know what, this person isn't looking for opinions! 2nd trimester abortions ARE LEGAL. Either answer the question as this person asked it or shut up.

Unless you know something I don't, a 2nd trimester abortion is still illegal. So if you find a butcher to do it, the price will be insane, on top of the fact that you are stopping a beating heart.

You can't do that!!! it's too late not to mention it could kill you!
Why even get pregnant if you don't want the baby? this baby inside you has a beating heart now and is well on its way of developing. That's murder

hmm let's see, a life with a beating heart and fully formed body?
And, possibly your safety - second trimester abortions are much riskier than first trimester abortions.
