India gave good chase right up till the end. That speaks volumes about the spirit with which the Indians played the game.

Yuvaraj made 120 runs against the famed Aussie attack.

Were 13/3 and then went on to 243. the last wicket added 20 runs in the absence of any established batsmen.

I think we played good positive cricket.

What more can we ask for?

A sub standard performance. Derogatory to the standards of a team studded with stars. To me Sachin Tendulker is the man responsible for this defeat. When he and Yuvraj were playing and India was back in the game requiring around 7/over to win the game. At that juncture a senior player of Sachin's caliber should not play like the way he did. He threw his wicket to Bradley Hogg. If he had had patience for few more overs then it would have been a different story all together as Yuvraj played brilliantly later on.

Well you know. This always happens. It happened in 01, it happened in 03 and now its happening again. After every major succes the indian cricket team has, it always fails right after that. In 01 it was the win over australia that broke a record. They failed after that. 03 and now its a world cup run, and we fail again. The consistency of Team India is really bad.

However, i felt that they could have improved their fielding. The Aussies were amazing at that. (YEAH). Anyway, the batting line up in the beginning for India is just not working. Its time to get the older guys out, and the young guys in. They deserve it.

It is a better performance. If they learn where they went wrong they can improve.
In all the three Australia batted first and we did not have the bowling to contain them.In batting too we did not get good starts necessary for successful chase.
I feel at least while chasing we must hold back Uthappa to come after Dhoni.R.Sharma would have been better at No 4 or 5.
Sreesanth must discipline himself while bowling. He himself bowled 5 wides out of 9 in the innings.

Fall of 3 early wickets proved fatal for India and there was no top order batsman to give Company to yuvaraj Singh till the end, which cost Insdia the match. As long as Sachin and Dhoni were at the crease India had chance to win the match.
However, after they were out, there was nobody to build partnership with yuvaraj Singh and he had to fight a lone battle.

AS Ponting himself said, it is difficult to bat second under the present conditions. Well yet there should be no excuses when you lose the plot! India need to move on with life and play the remaining games with complete detachment. They really have nothing to lose. They are the underdogs!
