Montauk Point, NY = so not the most famous. Many people have never even heard of it.
Most photographed is Cape Neddick, ME.
Portland Head Light in ME is also very historical.
Cape Hatteras, NC is the tallest, and is famous for its recent move to get away from the erosion destined to destroy it.
St. Augustine Light is also famous.
On the west coast, Yaquina Head Light, also called Cape Fowlweather.
There are tons of lights, and there are famous ones, but for different reasons.

I don't know any that are *that* famous. I'd head to Maine for some beautiful light houses. Northern Minnesota also has some great ones on Lake Superior.
