My MIL has been snooping through my paper work at my house, credit cards and what not. Now she even has copies of the bill's to which I pay they were from before my husband and I got married. What are my legal options if I chose to go that way. She has also called my creditors

Notify your creditors that there is someone who has accessed your information and that they are NOT to give out any information. If she has identified herself as you and gotten information she has committed Identity Theft, and can be arrested. You can also sue her for violation of privacy.

How does she get at the paperwork?

Lock it up in a filing cabinet to avoid any more snooping.

I'd be kicking her *** and then your hubby's for not telling her to stay out of private and personal stuff that could land her in jail. You could file a statement saying you think she is using your identity. If she's calling your creditors, find out from them if she posed as you or if they gave your info out to her & why. If she's not paying the bills to the copies she now has, she shouldn't have them. It's theft and her carelessness, could expose you to Identity theft. She especially has no right to any cards that could further your debt, unbeknownst to you. Take the ID THEFT. Give the hubby 1 warning and then go.
