so yesterday i was walking down the hall when a friend from church comes out of class with a red face and tears rolling down her face. her "friends" are in a tight circle by the lockers and they expected her to come to them but she came straight to me. she wrapped her arms around me and just cried and i found out it was because she was failing a class and athletic elidgiblity went out the next day. I talked to her and calmed her down and she said you are a true blue friend. she hugged me and walked away. What does this mean? HELP!

It means that she considers you to be a genuine person who opened your heart to her in a time of need without expecting anything in return; and without thinking less of her for her vulnerability. Take it as a compliment because most people can't say that they've got a TRUE BLUE friend.

Before you can start joking with your friends like that, you have to make sure that your friends have the same idea about the friendship as you do. My best friends are assholes and pick on me on birthdays or any other time i tell them something embarrassing. And I do the same. We have this agreement between each other and we know it's all in good fun. There are friends I can't do this with for obvious reasons. You have to know when to be considerate and when you can goof around. True friends are whatever you decide. There's no set meaning. Define it yourself. :)
