Get rich quick schemes in the capitalist business world, (buyouts, IPOs, conglomerates, acquisitions, mergers, and the stock market), do not actually work. Remaining solvent does not actually exist within false economics capitalism.
Profit existing in the capitalist business world, or millionaires existing within capitalism, is pathological deception committed by the 21 organizations spying on the population with plain clothes agents, (with covert fake names and fake backgrounds).
Actual economics is the persons paying the monthly business loan payments of companies voting at work in order to control the property they are paying for.
Capitalism is the psychology of imaginary parents, false economics, and the criminal deception of employees that are paying the bills (including the stocks and bonds, or shares) of companies.
Anti-democracy republicanism is the psychology of imaginary parents and false government.

I have to say, its very weird to see so many people dismiss poverty of there country in comparison to that of African nations.
Pray tell how many of these people donate to these countries' poor, or how many want the US to spend even a part of a percentage point of a trillion dollar budget on try to help these countries overcome a cycle of poverty and corruption.
You can have a cell phone, a telly(why people say colour tell, as if you can even by black & white anymore) and a car because relative to your country's median income, these things are affordable. You can have a cell phone worth $35 or a telly that cost $150. These could also be gifts from family members.
Cars are a necessary requirement for Americans that are working but still in poverty. In Europe that need is not there due to advanced public transport. And some American cars wouldn't be allowed on European roads due to safety concerns.
Oh and seriously anyone that says a socialised system creates laziness, just ask yourself, why has France, one of the most socialised capitalist countries in the world higher productivity to the puritanical capitalist economy of the US.
I do agree some parts of socialised economy are not good and some are disastrous if applied to an economy that isn't in the right stage for it.
Ireland approaches capitalism and socialism in a similar way to the Scandanvian countries and we are still trying to work out the balance and we don't have an influential socialist party like every other European country has.
One thing has to be made clear. You cannot tackle poverty related issues effectively by capitalism alone, and you cannot treat socialism as if it were a dirty word and equate it with communism.

Every socio-financial system has its merits and demerits.
Capitalism has its own; on the one hand enormous amount of wealth is created for the privileged few, while on the other a lot of people are left poor and in ghettos. But one should remember that poverty in the US is nowhere close to the scenes in Africa and Asia, where things are far worst. But Capitalism provides unique opportunities to the talented and enterprising individual. This is also the reason why a lot of Asian countries like China and India are trying to go that route amid opposition.
Socialism is not the best answer, since it is a system that leaves nearly everyone at the same level. A talented person will recieve about the same level of pay as someone who is average, thus leaving a lot of skilled people unsatisfied. It also leads to extremely high levels of taxation to fund state exchequers. Moreover socialist systems work best in countries with small, educated populations with very low rate of immigrant labour.
Hence North European socialism works best there while pure-bred capitalism works best in the US.

Well, you've just answered the question. The US is run by two parties, which both argue with each other, but are actually the same party. Did you know that? Capitalism is the Ideal of the "age of light" a few become rich while many become poor.

According to a recent study, the majority of the 'poor' in America own an automobile, a color TV and a cell phone. 2/3 of the rest of the world would love to be that poor.
Our economic system has given more people from more diverse backgrounds the opportunity to improve their lot in life than any other system. It has also given the opportunity to cure more disease, improve educational choices and increase charity more than any other as Americans are the most generous people in the world.
U can take ur Euro Socialism and jump in a lake.

First you need to look at poverty and how it is defined by our government.
You always hear these politicians go on and on about "the poor"
They choose their words to play your emotions of envy and compassion.
The reason they do this is for votes and power.
Poverty is defined by our government based on one thing, "Income"
this means you can have a 10 million dollar net worth, $1,000,000 house, $300,000 Bentley, 1 million in your checking account, a maid, a cook and a valet...and still be a statistic they use to win you over.
Pay attention, the government uses these statistics and your lack of knowledge for their gain.
I'm not saying there aren't poor people in the US but many of these people choose to live this way.
I think a better answer for the poor would be educate them on the difference between wants and needs, and quit giving them handouts that promotes this behavior.
I disagree, socialism isn't the answer.

Capitalist need poor people to survive, with out poor people they can not get their products cheep enough to make mega profits, so china, all Asian nations, Mexico and soon Africa, have the poor base that capitalism thrives on.
In the US the government subsides the poor with welfare, food stamps & other aid, to discourage manufacturing, because the base minimum wage in the US is more that the base pay they have to pay in countries filled with very poor people that work for slave wages.
Socialism in the US would be great, but it would take great afford to get the greedy Capitalist to let go of their grip on the world.

s,You have got to be kidding me! We have the "Richest poor people in the world!" Now with that said, let me tell you that being poor in this country IS a choice. I know I will get a lot of thumbs down, but this truly is the land of opportunity. You may grasp it or ignore it.
We all have the right to an education, by grants, loans, scholarships, and flat out money give-a-ways!
Just some folks have other things to do with there time, and prefer to spend it being poor, abusing substances or whatever.
It takes ambition and drive not to be poor, but some would prefer that we become socialists and redistribute the wealth. Maybe that's what they are waiting for.
A HEARTY "No thanks," to communism or socialism. I'll vote Conservative!
