Perverts, what to do with them?

Question

A man sentenced to prison, for molesting a child, can have his prison time reduced, if he receives a course of "sexual offender treatment".
The attraction, held by a pedophile for a child, is instilled in the pervert at birth, exactly the same way the attraction of a normal man to women, is instilled, or the attraction of a gay man toward other men.
Taking that course, can not change anything in their genetic make up, so the released convict retains his sexual perversions and is still attracted to kids. Chemical castration only works while the drugs are being taken in the prescribed dosage. Prisons are already over-populated, with other criminals.
My question is, without releasing these animals back into society, is there any acceptable recourse, other than surgical castration?
I don't believe there is. Your thoughts?

Oh yeah, I just remembered another option, but capital punishment is banned in a lot of places.

First we had people born "gay", now we have people born perverts. When are people going to wake up and see that we can't be selective about which perverts we lock up. We need to lock all of them up, or none.

I don't think this question should be graced with an answer - the question is judgemental and it ideals with an issue that is highly emotive.

There was a time in Europe (around 1850-1910) when catching a glimpse of a lady's ankle was considered a scandalous indication of harlotry for the lady and gross perversion for the viewer. What do you think these same people would think if they were taken to a modern-day beach in high summer?

First off, don't spank them - perverts like that.

Despite their supposedly irreversible attraction to children, there is no reason they can't learn to control themselves... I'm attracted to women, but that doesn't mean I can't control myself around them. Of course, there are socially accepted outlets for my desires.

The question of a suitable sexual outlet then must be the answer... if they could find a way to satisfy their urges that is healthy and harmless, then maybe they could be rendered safe... I forsee the use of digitally created virtual reality for child molesters being debated in the future... If no children are harmed, and the would be molester is satisfied, where is the harm? Oh the can of worms...

Believe pedophile is learned behavior. Some genetic factors may add to likely hood of developing this unnatural and sick behavior.
Not sure what is on market or price, but if implantable time release for chemical castration that doesn't cost more than imprisonment seems like good idea to me accept for sociopathic ones.

Are you trying to tell me that a pervert is born a pervert? Can I ask what research you have undertaken to come to that conclusion? Not that I agree nor disagree but it sounds very narrow-minded to me, especially when it's put in the same context as homosexuality.

Why are you asking for our thoughts when your mind has already decided?

all this money that the U S gives to other countries, I guess to keep the peace, could be spent on taking a old abandoned building, ( building one for them, they are not worth anything new) fixed up the building make sure it is big enough, cause there are a lot of pedophiles out there, ship them to this facility where they can live together, and maybe our children could be safe.that is just my opinion

So...pedophiles is what you mean when you say perverts? Hmmm....without getting into issues of proof, reasonable doubt, and conviction, that is, assuming the subject is indeed, by his own admission or conclusive evidence without a shadow of a doubt, an irredeemable pedophile:

Kill them. If they admitted their own guilt and asked for mercy killing to take them out of their own misery = lethal injection would be humane and efficient. If they are evil faulking bastards who just want to keep ruining lives = slow death, by faulking. 2x4's would be a good way to administer the sentence.

Quarantine. Exorcism. Stockades.

If there is hope, I think it only comes through complete reprogramming by God, but that can only happen when a child molester sincerely wants to change and will surrender to God to do it. And still, he may need a form of exorcism (it's still practiced), and he'd probably also have to avoid triggers, like staying away from areas where children frequent, just to safeguard himself against the old stuff.

Legalize "cruel" and unusual punishment. I'd bet that the overall crime rate in America would drop significantly if the would-be criminal were actually terrified of being caught.
