All it means is that shes ready for breeding.
If she has a mate or not she might lay eggs. If she does and she has no mate then take eggs out and boil them for a minute and a half and mash the eggs up with the shell and give back to her to eat it gives her more calcuim and strength

Also give her other treats such as :
Salad Cress - Peas - Apple - Celery - Courgette - Sweetcorn - Watercress - Boiled Rice (white or brown) - Parsley Sprig - Grapes - Cucumber - Dandelion Leaves - Broccoli - Broard Beans - Carrott - Finger of bread soaked in water (white or brown) - Mashed Boiled Egg (shell also) - Tomatoes - Lettuce - Cooked Pasta - Radishes (leaves also) - Crackers - Crisps- Chips - Potoatoes

There are two possibilities. She could possibly have mites (which is a condition that can be treated) OR, you bought an bird that was not as young as you thought and she is sexually mature and in breeding condition.

If she appears to be in any type of discomfort or distress, and is rubbing or scratching her cere on the cage bars, it could be mites. You can purchase medicine at the pet store for this or, if you have been made certain that it is mites, you can used "Vicks vapour rub" ointment (only a Q-tip sized amount) on the cere. If you do this every couple of days for about a week, the mites will be gone.

Your best bet is to get an opinion from another pet store or preferably an avian veterinarian. I say another pet store than where you bought her because it sounds like your store sold you either a sick bird (and all their others may be sick as well) or passed this one off as a young parakeet when in actuality she is probably at least 6-9 months old if she is in breeding condition. Either way, they may have been less than truthful with you so check with someone or somewhere else.

good day, Your budgie is a woman. A male budgie is born with a purple cere and then the cere will turn blue by way of the years. a woman budgie is born with a purple cere that devoid of postpone turns white or white/blue. Her cere will turn brown for the breeding season and after will turn back to white or white/blue. The male's cere would not exchange as quickly as they are matured.

Your female budgie has come into breeding and is not sick perhaps "Love-sick" but nothing to worry about!Give her some treats such as soaked and sprouting seed, soak some of her seed in warm water overnight drain ,rinse and let sprout in a warm place this will give her extra vitamins also if you can get hemp and niger seed try a little of these sprouting, don't forget some cuttle-fishbone there is nothing for you to worry about.
