A multivitamin only works if there is a correct balance between the vitamins, especially B-Complex, and if you don't have any adverse reactions to the composition (i.e., nonbuffered Vitamin C is all there is in a multi vitamin and that is too much for those who can't tolerate it). Having said that, I would say that the single most valuable vitamin to take is a B-Complex. The elusive 'B's' just aren't usually eaten in sufficient amount unless one is a vegetarian.

Family Doctor's Experience:

There is not a universal vitamin that you can buy and it is the best. What type of vitamin do you want: a general one, one with enchanced calcium, etc. Stating your general needs will help me answer your question. If you want a general vitamin, there are many....just depends on yourslef and body needs

I'm not a doctor, but I've been told the best vitamins are the ones you find in healthy foods.
