battery always use DC current.

as you might know, that DC is used for appliances with electronic circuits inside.
The power to run the appliances is DC current.
Big size appliance or big power consuming appliance, usually will need AC current (with power converter inside)
So usually for the small size appliance will need battery to feed it, otherwise it won't be effective.

Batteries that are rechargeable require AC, in the form of a block transformer, to charge them. The batteries themselves supply a DC current when being used.

They dont use any current.

They generate current. (DC)

In the electrical jargon game, the word "use" means it consumes.

Well batteries dont consume power, they supply power.
