Whatever Animal Control does or does not do is regulated by law. If they fine the owner then there is a reason. If they do nothing, then it's because nothing was wrong. You don't have to feel badly. They know the law and know what is correct in animal care. Even if you called them, if nothing was wrong, they would take no action. You didn't cause what action they did or didn't take. You just called with a concern. The response is in their hands.

I need more info on this case.

But, if you called animal control because you thought that the animal was being mistreated or indanger or the animal is the danger then you should not feel guilty. You did what you thought was right.

However, if you called the animal control because the animal made noise at night or you didn't like the breed or the animal type or their animal didn't necessarily get along with your animal (lots of animals dont get on, just make sure they are seperated) or something silly like that then , SHAME ON YOU! There is no other way to say it!

I would like to know the story behind this, let me know.

I hope this helps.

well it depends...perfect example, i dont get along with my neighbors. I have 2 roommates roommate 1 works morning shift from 8am untill 8pm. Roommate 2 works in another state. I work overnights from 1030pm untill 7am. We are never home....anywho Our neigghbors sent us threatening letters and insulting phone calls when we had our dog. It was the beginning of summer and the weather was NOT hot it was breezy so they sent us a letter saying verbatum "how would you like to be stuffed in a fur coat with no air conditioning, living in a hot plastic box with little to no water and chained to the ground? sounds cruel? IT IS! "
A few weeks later animal control was called on us. The animal control assessed the situation and told us the only thing we needed to do was clip our dogs toenails. She had plenty of water and plenty of shade etc.
i promptly walked next door the next day when I knew they were home opened their front door and let the dog loose inside their house. every time I see the owners now I cant look at them without shooting the bird at them. How mean they were!
My point is this if you see something wrong with an animal you could at least have the courage to walk next door and tell your concern to the neighbors FIRST! THEN call humane if nothing is done.

Anytime that you see an animal/s being mistreated, neglected or treated in such a way that would endanger their well being...go ahead.

Remember that the animals can not speak up or do things to take care of their needs.

I am not an animal rights activist, I simply feel that if you are going to have an animal, you should care for it and feed it and not leave it to starve or get beaten.

I never called animal control. I try to make sure that animal has a home. I just wish they would treat them like they would their children.

Maybe, you did the right thing calling, if the animal was feeling bad, but they know it was you... :-S

well since you didn't say WHY you called, we can't really give you an answer, but if the animal was being abused, or is left on the porch all day to sit in it's own feces, then yes, you did the right thing.

Well maybe you feel bad cause you didn't give them the chance to correct the problem.. You ratted them out and now their dog will die in the shelter..
