It's just another step forward. It's not unethical or wrong. It was once thought that transplants were unethical but now it isn't. New ideas and advances in medical science are always bad when new. In 100 years many conditions will be cured with embryonic stem cells and nobody will give it a second thought.

Kinda misguided. So you can grow new arms and stuff but are you really curing anybody. Where does the mind of a few scientists end up? Are we any better off as far as what we needed in the first place or are we just getting another slinky?

The benefit of harm in a lot of ways is there like making centaurs to fight wars for us and dinosaurs to harass but I think anybody with their own mind can tell you that after all the time and effort put into it what do we really have to show for it stem cell research!

You could ask why the Wright Brothers are always in the garage working on something but we still learned to fly in about twelve lessons right? My guess is they just up and thought is was possible and came up with the right stuff to get there but that doesn't mean there's no future in cell biology just maybe a field that needs a little direction in the first place.

Just about anything comes to you if you only ask why.

should we really jeopardize the future of generations because of our own PERSONAL belief and such? when they ask us sometime in the future if there is a cure to a disease they have, do people really think that when they grow up (if they get the chance) that they will appreciate that a bunch of people decided that because they were uncomfortable with the idea that they selfishly decided to make it illegal and make the decision for them?

having stem cell research gives us a chance to make life better and to see if this will open up any new doors.

if it will save people's lives and help million and millions of people why is it wrong? that's like saying that we should have continued to use slavery because it helped with the economy with them working on the plantations.

and for those religious people who have religion as their reason for their choices why should their faith set the laws for everyone else? i'm not saying that religion is necessarily bad, but when it hinders you to make coherent logical choices then it becomes a problem.

this is how progress is made. and each generation is responsible to contributing to make the world a better place, and so far we have failed in almost every aspects, and through stem cell we can take steps towards creating a better world.

What do I think? The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Meaning, that stem cell research can benefit all of humanity so whatever casualties happen along the way pale in comparison to the casualties that can be avoided with the advances that this research will bring.

Besides it's mainly Christian conservatives who are against it.
