I got a guy friend who has told me he has only been in 3 relationships two lasting a year each and the one at the mo bout two yrs so far. Anyway he said he dumps them as soon as they act different ie have a hissy fit. The girl hes been going out with has been in uni for the past yr or so so he sees her on breaks and two days aweek other times. Do u think it will work as this is the second time he has been engaged to a gal and people think theyre not a good match. Why he told me this i dont know as i havent known him that long.

If you're a woman, watch out for this guy! No, probably won't last, but, really, why would you care? He sounds like a jerk. Stay away from people like this! He may be charming but he sounds sick.

You said his current girlfriend is away at uni and they don't see each other that often - speaking from experience that would lengthen the relationship anyway, because of the anticipation of waiting to see each other. I went out with my boyfriend in my first year away at uni for about 5 months, and most of that was only good because we had to wait to see each other. He would drive down to see me once a week, and we'd be mad for each other!!! Then when I finished uni for the summer and came back home it fizzled out because he wasn't as bothered about me and our relationship when he was able to see me whenever he wanted.

He should wait and see how it is when she's back from uni and they see each other a lot more, that will give him a better idea of if they are ok together. Maybe the other people are right, maybe they are wrong, but long distance relationships can be deceptive because you're apart and longing for each other.
