we cant spot reduce body fat - the only way to get rid of fat in any specific areas is by lowering body fat percentage which you achieve by healthy diet (80% of the whole weight loss) and cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for average of 45min (running, jogging, rope jumping, swimming, hiking etc)

Nothing, you can't do it.

It is not possible to target body fat in a particular area on the body. You don't have a choice in the matter.

Think of it this way, your body was not made to look good at the beach, it was made to survive. Back in the day the way to survive famine was to have excess body fat and live off of that if necessary.

You can most definately target and define muscle groups. If you were to do a lot of squats you will build up your legs and butt, not your arms.

If you are on a calorie restrictive diet and are doing exercise, weight will come off. Where it comes off is up to your body and genetics.

I would say that the last place you put on weight is the first place is comes off. Did your face get a bit chubby...lost a couple of pounds and you'll probably notice it in your cheeks and neck, not your hips.

Eventually your extremities slim down and then your hips, stomach, etc...will then follow suit.

Target reduction is a horrible late night exercise equipment myth.

Think of a few things when trying to lose weight:

You didn't wake up one day and find out that you are larger than you want to be. It takes time to pack on pounds, it take time to take them off.

Don't jump in like a crazy person. Approach exercise and diet like getting a tan. You don't get a nice dark tan by laying in the sun for 6 hours. You would be burnt to a crisp and be in a lot of pain. If you were you slowly sit in the sun for 20 minutes one day, 22 the next...etc. It's a gradual thing, don't be too gung-ho or you'll burn out (no pun intended)

Lastly, you will make mistakes. So what. When you get a flat tire on your car, you don't get out of the car and shoot the other three tires.

If you eat a crappy meal or miss a workout, get back into the groove ASAP, all is not lost.

(Now if I could only take my own advice)

The best exercise is walking, it uses the largest muscles in the leg and butt, it also uses the ones in your waist, back arms etc. Walking is the very best exercise in every way but be sure to stretch first before you walk. Walk for at least 45 minutes a day, and try to do it at least five times a week. You will be amazed how fast it all burns off. The first week or two you may not notice much but after that fat just falls off. It is great. Be sure to drink lots of water.

There is something in fitness called the spot reduction myth. What this means is that when you work a spot you want the fat to go away from that spot.

Unfortunately that's not how the body works. As you lose weight, your body has a generally decrease in body fat all over.

Check out this web page on spot reduction. The site also has a ton of information on stomach exercises, workout tips and diet tips.

I hope it helps

Very best exercise for doing just that: Running and swimming. If ya have access to a pool a lot during the week. The it would be best to swim lap after lap to lose weight. Running is essentially (in my opinion) for losing weight from the hips, belly, and your overall fat around your body. try to run as much as you can. And if its to tiring, then just run as long as you can, until you get too tired to continue, then start walking. (Never Stop till you cant take it) then stat running again, then walk, then run..repeat. Or, maybe just walk a long distance. A good way to entertain yourself is your Ipod, just listen to it while running/walking.

Although I don't suggest doing it while swimming :p. You'll also need to consume less calories than you burn. Walking about a mile should burn around 100-200 calories. SO try to run/walk/swim after about 30 minute if eating. And make sure its not too fatty, and is healthy. Once you lose weight, your mood should increase, and self esteem. Stay away from Soda (Diet's fine) chocolate, peanut Butter, Bread, (Cereals fine, and perfect in the morning) and ice cream. Eat them veggies and fruit! (Any from of exercise is fine. Skating, DDR, and just little chores, and wlakign add up.) Good luck!

do some incline leg lifts. find an incline bench, not the one that has a seat but the one you can lay on. with your head on the top, grab the edge by your head. now lift your legs to a 90 degree angle and push up and twist, then back down slowly. do it again and twist to the different side. do 20 reps at a time., how ever many sets you want. that's the best lower ab work out. trust me it burns like he l l

You cannot spot-reduce body fat. It requires that you reduce body fat everywhere--which means reducing your caloric intake (and remember to eat more meals throughout the day) and exercise. Aerobic exercise.
