My friend 25 years old now had a lumps in her both breast. She just take herbal medicines and didnt want to consult a doctor again because she was told that its already malignant. Shes still working and just bear the pain. she is single and young and she told me that she will just wait her time when it comes because she was already ready to die. I wonder how long she will live? I know she was in pain but she just hide this to us (her officemates) but in their home she was crying of pain. Were advising her to see a doctor but she refused to do so.

It is a FOOLISH IDEA on her part not to go to Doctor. She has to undergo the treatments in full. Living or Dieing of any patient is not in anyone's hand. It will take its own course and we should not leave anything to chances. Further cancer is such a disease it should be attended and treated without fail as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA.

You have not told if any mammogram was done and what is the stage of the disease etc. This month i.e. OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. If she is alone and if she is hard up for funds you can approach any charitable and Government institutions and all will help. If the disease is in early stage say I or II it can be very well cured and she should live. Please tell her suitably and make her to take the treatments. Best of luck-

Insist she sees a doctor!!! Breastcancer treatment is very well advanced nowadays and can stop cancer from spreading effectively! Not going for treatment at the age of 25 is suicide basically! Although I cannot tell you how long she will survive without treatment (all cancers/patients are different) I would guess that her malignancy is quite aggressive considering her age. Most breastcancers as such are not painful - however there is emotional pain... and of course if the cancer has spread into liver, lungs, bones or brain there will be pain in those organs.

Hmmm, sounds screwy to me.

How does she know it's malignant? Did she have a biopsy and on both breasts? If not she doesn't know. If she did -what were the results of the biopsy, what was the hormone receptor status, grade, HER+, grade? Ask her about these things. If she doesn't know or is evasive - start to wonder.

Bear the pain? What pain - physical or psychological? Having had breast cancer twice I can tell you that most often (not always) it causes no pain at all. 25 is very young to have bilateral breast cancer, it happens but it is rare.

I would hate to be unsympathetic to a woman with breast cancer, but this story has a number of improbables - not impossible, just unlikely. I'd be kind but careful.

Malignant tumors are NOT an automatic death sentence, but refusing treatment will almost certainly result in death. The amount of time depends on how quickly the cancer spreads to other parts of her body (brain, bones, liver or other organs, etc.). She really must see a doctor. Not pursuing treatment is like committing suicide, since potentially successful treatments for breast cancer--even late stage breast cancer--are available.

I think it's better for her to see a doctor. A friend of mine died 2 years ago because of breast cancer. She also doesn't want to see the doctor. I tried to persuade her to see a doctor and so she did. After a month or so she had the operation but then she died. Don't know if she really did the operation because she lived far from my town. We just talk on the phone. Her aunt call me on December two years ago to tell me she's dead. So, I think you really should convince her to see a doctor. It will help her ease the pain if not completely cure her.

As a breast cancer survivor, I have to wonder what else her doctor said. Has she considered having a mastectomy? Going through chemotherapy? Radiation? Of course, people do die of the disease, but 25 is awfully young to have it. And I can't see any reason for her to completely refuse pain medication. As for how long she will live, I honestly don't know... you might try phoning your local cancer care center and asking for advice.

Why do you think shell die?why ppl think of cancer as a death sentence. Cancer can be treated and she will be treated this is the way you should think and pas it on to her as well. I know this sound a bit as denial and we should always face the truth but take her to the docs and and be with her all the way. Most of it stay positive and take one day at a time.God bless you as her friend and good luck

Precise times of death are really not possible to predict and you can't force some one to see a doctor. However, I hope you will keep trying to get her to see an oncologist. Treatment is improving and your friend needs to have more desire to live. Good Luck!

You must get her to see a doctor, it's imperative that she gets treatment now, its not an automatic death sentence and no one should be in pain and suffer alone. Please go with her and get help. She is too young to be thinking that it's her time to die and there are drugs and treatment that can help.
