My blue Pit Bull likes to walk around while peeing and pooping leaving a trail unlike my older pit who pees and poops in one spot. She also will only poop in private unless she really has to go. most of the time it is impossible for me to see her poop unless i catch her doing it when im looking out the widow at her. is this a problem? thanks.

You're question got sort of jumbled.

Are you asking about the Blue Pitt's "trailing" problem, or the older dog's shyness?

To keep "Blue" from sprinkling all over, she needs to be fixed. Female dogs mark territory just like males do.

Put her on a leash tied to you. It keeps the mess in one spot, and you can catch her going and correct her immediately.

Put her on a strict eating and bathrooming schedule. That way you can take her out when you know she needs to go.

Get her to bathroom on command. When ever you see her go, give her a potty command. I use "get busy". Use the dog's name, say, "good (dog's name), good get busy". You take her out and give the command, she goes and has no "ammunition" to spread all over.

Go to a vet to make sure she doesn't have a bladder infection. Sometimes they "sprinkle" when they aren't feeling well.

As for the shy dog, leave her be. She's fine.

I don't know why dogs do that. My dog will go wherever like your blue pitt. My mom's dog is like your older pit, we'll take her on trips & she will usually hold it in, unless she can't any longer. Both dogs are perfectly healthy, they just have different personalities. My mom's dog is shy & skiddish, but she's healthy.

Though, if your older pit used have bthrm behavior like the blue pit & suddenly changed his bthrm habits there could be a problem & you may want to contact your vet.

umm i wouldn't think this is a problem 3 out of my 5 pits do this and its mostly the males that do. They leave huge trails.
and for the most part they don't really like me to sit and watch them do it either. i guess they just ike there privacy as well i think everything should be fine and you don't have anything to worry about!

My little pit girl does that too!! Our vet and I have not found this to be of any concern, just a little frustrating at times when she hides from me. I just laugh. If your still concerned just talk to your vet about it at her next appointment. Hope this helps.

Its freaking hilarious. But on a serious note is she spayed? Sometimes if they're not and aren't getting any loving their bathroom behavior may become strange.

As long as she's not doing it indoors, I wouldn't worry about her seemingly strange potty habits.
