Here's the story. 2 weeks ago i randomly threw up and had chills. that night i had a high fever of about 102, sweated out my sheets for three nights. i had a sore throat, swollen glands, nausea and a persistent headache and chills so i went to the clinic. the nurse swabbed me for strep, told me it came back negative but that they would culture it and let me know if it was positive later... no phone call (assuming it was negative) my boyfriend gets sick a few days later with similar symptoms and he gets tested for strep and its positive. several other people around me including my little sister, two coworkers and three friends have similar symptoms yet everyone gets rid of their illness within a few days. two weeks have gone by and i have only gotten worse!
-swollen lymph nodes
-weight loss
-vomiting
-chills
-dry cough and sneezing
-runny and stufffy nose
-fatigue
-stiff neck
-headache, nausea
-frequent vomiting
-shakiness (hypoglycemia probably)

PLEASE HELP! It's been 2 weeks of this!

Your symptoms could be caused by the flu, mononucleosis, or meningitis. You need to see another doctor; you may have caught a combination of ailments. You do need medical intervention. With all this going on you are likely dehydrated too.

You need to go back to the doctor and tell them to do the test again and make sure they listen that everyone else around you is getting sick with the same thing but yet your test was negative. (also never assume anything with doctors. You call them to double check, I've been screwed over by doctors many times before and they've been stupid and don't care)

What you have sounds like what I had when I was 18. I can't remember much about it but how awful I felt and the fact I couldn't eat or drink anything with my throat so swollen and hurt too much. Believe it was some kind of strep but a lot course. You need meds and you need it now.

Glandular fever, or the kissing disesse.

Go to another doc and get a blood test. Could just be the mumps as well. Tonsiitis.

Anyway the good news is you will lose some weight.

You need to go back to the doctor. Either the test result was false or you caught a virus, in any case no one should linger 2 weeks with those symptoms.

The fever, stiff neck, and headache at the back of the head concern me the most. If you have access to a large hospital such as a Children's Hospital, I suggest you take him there. This is your son and something does not seem right. Hope you all find out something soon and he gets better!

Go BACK to that Clinic & find out what's going on. It sounds like you have some kind of Infection & need antibiotics to fight it. Do it TOMORROW!!!
