Okay, so I know how to draw them , but they're stylized and in black in white. I use Max 2 oil paints. How do I make them look in motion? Also, how does skin look when it's being burned? I'm painting a portrait of myself being burned alive. I know it sounds weird.

I depends on the medium you are painting in, but, in general you should paint in very thin glazes that let the all the layers show through. If you look at a flame, it is not a solid color. It has many colors and layers in it. In watercolor, start with the lightest colors first. In other mediums, start with the darker colors first. Practice this method before you put it on your canvas to make sure that you have it right. Good luck, and please don't burn yourself alive!

Flames are probably the most toughest matters to study. You can have a bigger results should you do lightning bolts on a black base. All you wish to have for that's a few well nice overlaying tape - I use 3M. Paint the complete factor black paper and tape off the complete frame now take the tape and lay out the little traces for the lightning Make all of them exclusive - then use a interest knife to reduce them out. Pain them white define in a few blue with a quality tip. There ya pass

Register and follow this link. It is called "true flames" technique. It is in air brush but can be done in 'normal' brush as well.

The skin you can best make cracked black and with red underneath. There are some pics on the net with stuff like that.

You will see that the flames obscure the view to what is beneath them almost totaly.
