doing situps will build your ab muscles quite a bit, but it won't show any signs of skinniness unless you do cardio as well. Forms of cardio include: running, jogging, swimming, bicycling, etcc. 500 situps is kinda harsh, try 100 or 200 first and gradually increase after every week. minor results will definitely show within a few weeks. Also, a healthy diet is needed for any type of weight loss, but try changing into a healthy lifestyle; that way, you'll lose the weight and you won't gain it back either =) good luck

Crunches > situps high quality > volume. muscle groups can not restore and rebuild in case you do not supply them relax. So 500 situps 5 days immediately won't show you how to plenty. attempt purely 3 days a week. important outcomes would ensue in 3 months, not 5 days. Doing finished physique workouts will help.

you will never get skinnier doing situps especially every day. You should never work on the same muscle group two days in a row.
The only fat burning exercise is cardio (we cant spot reduce body fat) and to get results you have to do it 4-6 times a week for average of 45min and combine with light weight training because cardio burns both - fat and muscle.

you need to do cardio as well to get the heart pumping and burn calories. doing situps alone won't make you loose a lot of weight. you are just building muslce- well strengthening I suppose. but to loose weight, you need to do a well balanced workout as well as eat right. just doing 500 situps won't do it- thats like saying "i eat healthy but never workout." not much will happen since you need to burn the right amount of calories. you should look into a personal trainer or nutritionist if you can. if not, head to the bookstore and see what you can find!

2 things :
first DON'T do 500 situps everyday or you will end up in the hospital every single body builder out there tells you to do work outs like that EVERY OTHER DAY because when you do those exercises you work your abs but you need to give your abs a chance to grow mussel or you will damage them severely.
second: you wont get skinner just doing situps you get mussel but its pointless if you have fat covering it... i recommend swimming to get rid of the extra weight.

your physique is how it is because of:
- diet
- genetics
- exercise
- metabolism
- psyche
- etc.
these all interact with each other. keep this in mind. increase in exercise and nutritional intake will impact your metabolic levels. genes play a role in tendency, but gene expression (some people are likely to get cancer, but not all people with that 'bad gene' do) depends upon other factors.
so long as you feel good and healthy is what matters most.
