It's not only possible, but it happens more and more these days. I know multiple couples who have started their relationships online or on the phone and are noew happily married. One couple even got engaged on the phone before having met. I recommend making a trip to see each other soon and enjoying every minute. You sound like on lucky couple. Good luck.

you can fall in love with the image you have of that person based upon what you have learned or been told but until you meet in person and interact, you can not love the total person.
Love comes in degrees. You do not love a child as you would a parent or a mate, so saying I love you really means that you love what you know of that person at that point. I am co-administrator of a site of primarily women - men are allowed but generally don't fit in and leave - and I talk now and then to several of the girls and we say I love you when saying goodbye and the term has different meaning to some extent depending upon which one I am talking to since I am closer to some than others.
One the other hand, one of the girls was told I love you often but when they met in person the man was a real jerk and the love ended quickly. There have been a few online romances that have turned out quite well though from some postings I have seen on here and elsewhere as well. Good Luck to you but be cautious for a while yet until you do get to meet in person.

RE:
Can you fall in love with someone just talking on the phone?
I have been talking to someone on the phone long distance for the past 2 months and it feels like I have feelings for him and he does for me.. We even started saying "I love you".. Is this possible..Without even meeting in person ? Is online dating unhealthy?

You can fall in love with your mental image and fantasy of who they are, but falling in love by talking on the phone is just a little too " desperate" to be real.

Now if that were true, I'd be wanting to marry the operators of two different phone companies
I think it takes more than that. The phone is so impersonal, you need to see him more intimately

Yes it can happen. I happend to me in one of my past relationships. We met one night when I was out of town and we exchanged numbers and kept talking for about a month. We'd spend HOURS on the phone to each other, and yes, we ended up saying 'I love you' over the phone, he blurted it out one day and said he wanted to wait till we met up again to tell me but just couldn't wait. He came to visit me soon after and we were together for 2 years. Good luck!

It's called "lust". Love is undescribeable for words! I've never experienced true love. But I know you can't fall in love with someone without getting to know them very well and actually meeting. You just like him or lust.

I believe it is possible to fall in love with someone just by talking to them. However, you dont know whether he is just telling you what you want to here, lying to you about everything, and it could be very dangerous. Esp. since you never met him. Normally people have lust and not love in 2 months. On-line dating is neither healthy or unhealthy. I met my bf from on line. Just take precautions when you do it.
Be careful and take care.

i had some email on my msn that i didnt know who it was... i hadnt been on msn for a long time!! so me and him started talking... and eventually exchanged numbers and talked to each other at least once a day for about a month. i was convinced i would fly down and meet this man of my dreams, and everything would be amazing. however as suddenly as it came in, everything died. he stopped calling, texting, msn. i took it as a hint and havent talked to him since. it was hard to get over, because i always wondered "what if i lived closer... or something" you can have feelings for someone over the phone, but just dont get it mixed up with your dreams... good luck and i hope you dont get hurt.
